Treat visible marks and discolorations on the white fabric immediately after each ride, instead of letting stains set deep into the synthetic performance fibers over multiple days. Fresh chain grease, road grime, and dried sweat residue are far easier to lift when they have not been baked into the fabric by body heat or left to dry for several days. Gently dab the stained area with lukewarm water and a small amount of mild cleaning agent, working the solution into the fabric with soft, circular motions using a clean microfiber cloth. Never toss the white cycling kit into a hot tumble dryer after washing, because high heat will break down the synthetic elastic fibers and trigger irreversible yellowing across large areas of the white material. Instead, hang each piece loosely on a wide, non-abrasive hanger in a well-ventilated space that gets soft, indirect natural daylight, which helps maintain the bright white tone without exposing the fabric to harsh UV rays that can weaken fibers over time. Make sure the kit is completely dry before you fold or store it, because even tiny traces of trapped moisture in folded layers can create faint mildew spots that leave permanent brown or gray marks on the white surface. Keep the fully dried white kit stored separately from heavily dyed or dusty garments, to prevent accidental contact discoloration before your next ride.
